GP Registrars

Glenfield Surgery is a teaching and training practice and have an ongoing cohort of GP Registrars. A GP registrar is a qualified Doctor who will become a GP through a period of training in hospital and General Practice. They are supervised by one of our doctors and able to see all patients.

Our Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) support the nursing and medical team in delivering patient care. They carry out routine clinical tasks such as taking blood samples, checking blood pressure, performing NHS Health Checks, wound care and ECGs. The HCAs are also trained in INR management and assisting with long-term condition reviews.

Social Prescriber

A social prescriber plays a key role in helping patients connect with non-medical sources of support within their community. These sources may include local groups, charities and other services that can provide practical assistance, emotional support or advice on issues such as finance, housing and employment. A social prescriber works closely with GP's, nurses and other healthcare professional's to identify patients who may benefit from social prescribing and to provide them with tailored support.

Patient Services Advisors

Patient Services Advisors are often the first point of contact for patients. They help with booking appointments, managing enquiries, processing prescription requests, and directing patients to the most appropriate clinician or service. They play a vital role in ensuring the practice runs smoothly and that patients receive timely support and a positive experience. Our team may ask you for some information, in order to inform the clinical team in relation to your appointment. We ask that you please be patient and respectful with them, especially during busy time, as they are doing their best to help everyone. All staff adhere to the Practice's Confidentiality Policy and Data Protection Act 2018.
